The Hassles

We are currently in the process of negotiating with the Italian Consulate to get our Extended Stay Visa Application processed. We did not realise the complications in applying for this Visa. Did you realise that if you are planning to stay for more than three months in Europe you need to apply for a Visa? The Schengen Convention applies. This means that you can only stay for 90 days in any 180 day period in any of the Schengen countries. Therein lies the complication. We have opted to apply for an Italian Visa as this is where we will be spending most of time.

With the assistance of Debra Kolkka (whose blog site is http://bagnidilucca.wordpress.com) we are now well into the process. Thanks again Debra.

Anyway we will keep you posted on the outcomes……

Merry Christmas and a Happpy New Year to all!
